COMMUNITIES & CUSTOM APP DEVELOPMENT

The Challenge

Our client wanted to cultivate better relationships with their existing and former attorney network. They also wanted their alumni to stay in touch and network with each other, even after they left the firm.

 

The goal was to create a secure online community that would allow participants to register for continued learning courses, post new job opportunities, and offer general networking features.

 

The community also needed to promote alumni events across the firm’s global network, as well as highlight alumni accomplishments.  Given our client’s company size and global reach, they hoped to keep alumni and current employees closely connected with each other.

CLIENT OVERVIEW

 

A large global law firm based in San Francisco, California, was looking to leverage Salesforce to bring its network of attorneys together.

 

The firm has over 1,000 attorneys across its offices in the United States, Latin America, Asia, and Europe.

Our Solution

EpiGrowth staffed a Solution Architect and a Senior Community UI/UX Designer to lead the client’s Business Team with the following approach:

  • Created wireframes and mockups in Figma to visually communicate the UI and UX design. This ensured that the functionality, as well as the look and feel, aligned with the Business Team’s vision before any development began.
  • Leveraged Salesforce’s Experience Cloud with Customer Community licenses as the core foundation for the solution.  All invited attorneys were created as Contacts within the Salesforce instance.

 
 

  • Built custom Lightning Web Components enabling alumni community users to create customized profiles, facilitate user messaging, and showcase upcoming learning courses.
  • Reinforced the corporate design guidelines across the entire secure online community to preserve a true branded experience for all users.

Our Results

With the successful launch of the client’s targeted marketing campaign (using Salesforce Marketing Cloud), their new community reached the 500 active alumni members milestone in no time!

 

Similar to LinkedIn, the Salesforce Community allows the firm to showcase its alumni and their amazing achievements.  Many of the alumni members have gone on to hold notable positions in the US Supreme Court, Court of Appeals, District Court, and State Judge appointments.  

 

The new branded portal also allows alumni users to view exclusive job postings and register for any of the 300 learning credit courses available on the site.  But perhaps the most important feature is the ability to search the directory for past and current attorneys, allowing users to continue making new connections and maintaining relationships even after leaving the firm.
